Soil temperatures in December from across Kansas

The extremely cold temperatures have had a gradual impact on soil temperatures. Below is a sample of the readings at various research sites across the state. The coldest reading at the 2 inch depth was 15.4 degrees F at Scandia. The coldest air temperature was -7.9 at Colby.
