Precision Wheat Management Field Day Planned for May 27 in Belleville

Kansas State Extension and the River Valley District will host a Precision Wheat Management Field Day on Wednesday, May 27, at the North Central Kansas Experiment Farm, Belleville Unit, located 1 mile west of Belleville on U.S. Highway 36.

The field day will highlight research and technology being used to support wheat production and management decisions in Kansas. Participants will have the opportunity to see real-time demonstrations and field research focused on precision agriculture tools and wheat management strategies.

Topics and demonstrations will include:

  • UAV (drone) flyovers of research plots
  • Real-time streaming of multispectral imagery
  • Instant imagery analysis for management decisions
  • Wheat variety trials and disease management
  • Research on planting dates, fungicides, and additional wheat production practices

Refreshments will be available before the program begins at 9:00 a.m. The event will conclude at noon, with lunch provided afterward.
