K-State Weed Management Update meetings, Feb. 17-20

A series of K-State Weed Management Update meetings will be offered throughout the state during the week of Feb. 17-20. The speakers at each meeting will be Dallas Peterson and Curtis Thompson, Extension weed management specialists.

Dates and locations are:

Monday, Feb. 17, 1 to 4 p.m. Sharon Springs, CAB Building. Please RSVP to the Sunflower Extension District Sharon Springs Office at 785-852-4285, or email Jeanne Falk Jones at jfalkjones@ksu.edu.

Tuesday, Feb. 18, 9 a.m. to noon. Lenora, Community Library, 110 N. Main. Please RSVP to one of the Twin Creeks Extension District Offices (Hoxie, 785-675-6238; Norton, 785-877-5755; or Oberlin, 785-475-8121).

Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Phillipsburg, Phillips County Fair Building. Please RSVP to the Phillips-Rooks Extension District Office at 785-543-6845, or email Cody Miller at codym@ksu.edu.

Topics at these meetings will include:

  • Controlling kochia and Palmer amaranth
  • Herbicide resistance and sites of action
  • Weed control in field crops

These meetings qualify for 3 Pest Management CCA credits and 3 Commercial Pesticide Applicator credits in 1A. There is no cost to attend. Most locations require at least 10 registrations for the meeting to be held.
