K-State Sorghum Schools scheduled for February 11-14

Kansas State Research and Extension in conjunction with the Kansas Grain Sorghum Commission, and supported by the Sorghum Checkoff, Chromatin, Inc., KFRM 550 AM radio station, and Bayer CropScience (Huskie), will hold in-depth Sorghum Schools at four locations throughout Kansas.

Meeting dates span Feb. 11-14 and address a number of issues facing by sorghum growers: risk management, irrigation management, crop production practices, nutrient and soil fertility, weed, insect, and disease management. Each sorghum school will begin with registration at 8:30 a.m., the program will start at 9:00 a.m., there will be a lunch at 12:00 noon, and the program will conclude at 3:30 p.m.

As a new feature for these Schools, concurrent sessions will be held on the use of new technologies (Web-tools & Apps) for farming.

  • Tuesday, Feb. 11 – Scott City – William Carpenter 4 H Building
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12 – Beloit – NC Kansas Technical College Auditorium
  • Thursday, Feb. 13 – Wichita – Sedgwick County Extension Center
  • Friday, Feb. 14 – Manhattan – International Grain Programs Building
